Fran and Sophie get the disabled latrine off the ground

Following Eddy and Ngozi's trip to Uganda, Fran and Sophie arrived hot on their heels with a days overlap to focus on the walls and suspended slab.

Their arrival matched up with the saddening news that Pastor Cuthbert, the custodian of the school, sadly passed away. Pastor Cuthbert was a key member of the community and the death had a big impact on the community. Following the funeral works managed to continue with a short period of time lost.

By the time Fran and Sophie were ready to leave, they'd managed to complete the lower walls and construct the suspended slab reinforcement away from the structure. Works to pour the suspended slab followed two weeks later upon the completion of the formwork.

Fran had the following to say: 'Witnessing firsthand the incredible work EFOD does and the impact it has on peoples lives has been truly amazing - I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to support them by supervising the construction of Faith School in Uganda.

Thank you to my team mate and one of my best friends Sophie Jones who insisted on taking on a number of the offsite tasks so I could focus on my ICE Chartership in the evenings (so appreciated!)'

A big thankyou to Wales and Africa (WCAV) grant scheme for their support of the scheme. Without the funding the project might not be possible.
